Enabling automation in the continuous integration process is an emerging and topic for the research community. In this project, the goal is to apply test automation in a Web Application test infrastructure for the continuous improvement of their testing process, increasing its efficacy, computing its test adequacy and overall measuring testing quality. To this end, the project will develop a “smart” service that will expand the existing test data management solution making it less labour intensive and to a large degree automated. The objective is to introduce test metrics ensuring test quality, identifying ineffective tests (failing to detect regression issues due to incorrect data schema) and support the data management automation.
Under the direction of a professor, the candidate will carry out research activities and write a thesis with the main goal of obtain a PhD in the area of Software Engineering. This includes conducting literature surveys and establishing state-of-the-art; developing necessary experimental and simulation facilities where required; planning, executing, and analyzing experiments and simulations; conducting joint and independent research activities; contributing to project deliverables, milestones, demonstrations, and meetings; disseminating results at international scientific conferences/workshops and peer reviewed scientific publications.
The candidate will be supervised by Dr. Mike Papadakis (https://sites.google.com/site/mikepapadakis/) and the project will be conducted together with the members of the SERVAL research group (https://wwwen.uni.lu/snt/research/serval).
Language Skills: Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
